Symposium "Affordable Housing Forum", 29.-30. June 2017, Warsaw
Organizers: SARP Association of Polish Architects, Kielce branch
Chaired by: Departement of Architecture ETH Zurich, ETH Wohnforum-ETH CASE
Supported by: Kielce University of Technology
Partners: Fundacja Wspólnie LafargeHolcim, Echo Investment
The Affordable Housing Forum is structured in two parts. On the first symposium day, academics and practitioners of different fields and disciplines (architecture, sociology, economy etc.) present and discuss their papers in Thematic Paper Sessions (3-4 parallel sessions). Every presentation is followed by discussions and feedbacks from the experts. The idea of the symposium comes straight from architectural workshops that plays on heuristics. We don't want only present knowledge during workshops, but produce it. Participants of the Call for Papers have to prepare short presentation summarizing their work that will be presented the second day. It is the most valuable part of the symposium. On day two, the symposium will be held in a plenary session with specialists and the audience. It is open to public.
Who should attend?
The programming is strongly oriented toward practicing professionals and academics, decision makers working on and interested in affordable housing approaches to research, design and construction processes. This year we focus on CEE countries, where term „affordable housing” is unknown and unexplored. Presentations from other countries are welcome, but the accent will be put on solutions that may applied in CEE region.
