New Elective Course: Global Housing Issues, Challenges and Strategies

The new elective course focuses on the reconstruction of homes and emergency shelters during and after military conflicts. The current war in Ukraine and the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria are dramatic reminders of the plight of millions of people made homeless by man-made and natural disasters.

Using concrete examples and extensive international field experience, faculty in this elective will introduce students to the benefits and risks of various shelter and housing reconstruction practices and their connection to community strengthening.
