"Ageing in Place" – Application and evaluation of a new elderly care policy in Schaffhausen
The project “Ageing in Place” in the city of Schaffhausen involves a 3-pronged strategy: establishing neighbourhood service centres, enhancing resource utilisation by the elderly themselves, providing different housing options. In this context, ETH CASE evaluates the implementation of the first neighbourhood service centre, complemented by a socio-spatial analysis, related to everyday activity and mobility patterns and resource utilisation of selected 75+ households in different housing stocks. The results are to provide conclusions and recommendations for communities interested in supporting the concept of “ageing in place”.
