Marwa Al-Sabouni
Marwa Al-Sabouni is a Syrian architect, holds a PhD in architectural design and is the author of the acclaimed book 'The Battle for Home', which has been selected by the Guardian as one of the best architecture books for 2016.
She is considered an expert on the reconstruction of Syria, runs an architecture studio with her partner in Homs and is co-founder of Arch-News, the world's first and only platform to publish architecture news in Arabic. Her TED lecture was one of the best TED lectures in 2016 and was seen over 1 million times. She has published articles in the RIBA Journal, Architectural Review, Financial Times, Wall Street International Magazine, Standpoint Magazine, Victoria & Albert Museum and ICRC Journal.
