Angela Birrer
Angela Birrer is a social anthropologist and researcher at ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE. She also works as a project collaborator in the office "albprojekte - Raum, Mensch, Kultur". She studied Anthropology and Communications at the University of Zurich from 2008–2011 and completed her Master's degree in “Anthropology & Sociology of Development” at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva in 2014. Subsequently, she worked at the Urban Development Department in Lucerne and joined the ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE in May 2015. Since then, Angela Birrer has worked on various research projects on topics such as sustainable neighbourhood development, innovations in housing construction, ageing in place and intergenerational relations. In the meantime, she travelled the world for six months and completed the “CAS Communal- and City Development in Transition” at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She feels comfortable at the interface of city residents, planners, developers and other city makers and likes to get to the bottom of the different perspectives.
